Yes, I know JR and really like him as a person. But, no one present, including the children who came to see a neat climbing movie, knew he going on as part of the show. We didn't have a chance to exercise your "if you don't like it, then don't watch" action. If the kids' parents had known the subject of his act beforehand, don't you think that many may have chosen to keep their children away from that part of the "show?"Spragwa wrote:I wasn't there for JR's spot but I will wager that I've heard it all. Most people there know JR. If he's doing standup, then expect to get JR. If you don't like JRs ribald humor, then don't watch...
Sorry. Here I just fail to agree on what makes jokes about babies in blenders and rape of children "hysterical." (Assuming you mean hysterical in the funny ha ha sense.) But, hey, I'm just an old guy near to exiting stage left. It's your world now, Spragwa. Do with it as you see fit.Spragwa wrote:I'm really bummed that I missed it. I think the guy's hysterical. He pushes all bounds of social conscience but that's what makes him hysterical.
Someday, you might find yourself sitting with your grandaughter listening to a comedian joke about "the sound a twelve-year old's pelvis makes when it breaks." I wonder if your perspective on what is hysterical may change.
Disclaimers: I really like JR and Spragwa. Nothing here is intended as a personal attack. I only respectfully disagree with what they feel is appropriate to publicly perform without a pre-announced "X" rating.
Now, I better dig out that old flame suit...
