And as far as Potter, well said everyone. I guess it's just so hard to let go of young views from films like Masters of Stone 5. I think regardless, I will always have some type of respect for people who push physical limits so far, even if I have other conflicting feelings.
My belief is to push your limitations as far as you can while not hurting others. I agree with you guys on access whether it be here at the Red or in Utah, nobody wants to see it limited or shut down completely, ie torrent. However, I do have a slight problem with the fact that Potter is getting shitted upon so heavily because of a kneejerk overreaction by the park service. The arch is delicate, hence the name, but have you ever seen the gross black trail from parking lot to it, made from the massive amounts of tourist that march the trail to see it? People value the aesthetic or the arch so much that they forget they are disrespecting the same sandstone under their feet that the arch is made from. Theres some Hypocrisy. All I am saying, is that I think the park service is going a little overboard and potter is getting all the heat. And, by the way, its the Park Services actions that most people are pissed about, not the actual action of Dean. They are using him. And yeah, maybe access should be limited to protect certain delicate structures like the arch. But again, the P.S. is going too overboard with it.
So, Sure maybe Potter deserves some shit, but not a full out Hurricane of Shit. Throw some at the park service for not knowing moderation.
