Re: Call for Submissions: In the RED

Or the "my boy just sent Twinkie" story? One of the most epic examples of gratuitous spray. Not sure that is what Chris is looking for, but it is one of my favorites. Good times! It was in the fall of 2007. I never did send Twinkie though. Come to think if it, I don't think I sent C...

Re: thank you

Thank you, Paul. Such a long run of being active in the community. It stems from how great of a person you are. No-one can fake it for that long. :)

Re: How to spray w/ Windows 8?

Steep, the spray list uses some scripting that has been deprecated in IE since IE 7. You'll need to enable compatibility mode on the page to make it work correctly. To do that, open the Spray page and click the torn page icon in the address bar near the refresh button. Screenshot attached. Hope that...

Re: Which is better?

If I'm taking my son, Muir is the obvious choice. If not, I have never had a specific preference. It's wherever the project is at the time. :)

I leave for a few months and when I come back people are being mean to Josie. The world is a dark, cruel place. :D

Re: Ondra Patrol

Perhaps there are so many bolts because there is an intention to skip some, but which ones are unknown? I always wonder when watching Sharma or whoever climb and they skip bolt after bolt in what seems like hard moves, presumably too hard to clip. Did they find out they were too hard to clip the har...

Re: Should bolters be putting the R in spoRt?

Haha... this reminds me of a story. I was at the Obed in the Library and climbing the one 5.11 route in there that leads to the roof (I forget the name). I tried a few moves out the roof clipped one or two bolts then fell / lowered. After I lower, a pair of guys walk up and the larger of the two (no...

Re: Should bolters be putting the R in spoRt?

Routes with ledges suck to bolt no matter how you look at it. If the climbing is hard above the ledge adding more bolts for safety might be the right call, but then the climber is clipping 2-3 times during the danger zone. If the climbing is too easy it is easy to think that a high standing clip fro...
