OK, so the next person that says they are "close" to sending some steep, pumpy-with-a-high-crux rrg route because they can do it with one hang, is going to get my foot upside of thier ass. Seriously.

Around these parts, we have a saying.."you don't really own a route until you have done it three times. Until then, it owns you."

The only "close" fall would be clipping the chains..otherwise, shut teh ehll up until you actually are strong enough to send..all this "I am close" BS is mere camp fire poseur spittle.

Well, unless you are actually close to sending. Then it is cool. I have like five routes that I have down to one hang/fall, and I think it is possible that is the closest I will ever get...

I mean, shit man, this is the Red. You're not "almost getting" a route with one hang here! That one hang may last well over a year!

I always like the story of the dude who "almost onsited" Stain by falling at the last move. 50 tries later, after falling at the last move, he finally redpointed it.

Clipping the chains on a Red River route with one hang don't mean shit.

Ah, don't sweat it man. Next weekend (read: AFTER YOU REST) that one hang business will be a not-so-fond memory.

unless you fall again next weekend..in that case, it will be a recent memory.

However, it will all be in the past.

Day one: Yeah, that route was great. Next time, I'll get it no problem.
