best ten choss heaps

Post by Huggybone »

Now, if you climb trad in the red, chances are that you have climbed a couple of choss heaps. And, for some reason, they are a little fun, if not frustrating. So, lets come up with the list of the best ten choss heaps.
Qualifications: 1) the route must be a pile, and 2) worth it anyway.

Refrigerator, either variation. More like splunking than climbing, and a headlamp would help no matter what time of day you climb it, but still worth it

And so, as i was and am the main perp on the FA of six of the above distinguished piles (Jungle Beat, Foxfire, The Underling, Good Tang, Curving Crack, and Burden of Dreams, among others) would I not have earned.., indeed be virtually compelled to accept, the title of His Holy Highness, King of All That is Crap, Conquistador of The Crumbly, Trekker of The Treacherous, Licker of the Loose, Prince Larry of Prowess Past? And thusly entitled to the title, might I not suggested that Tower of Power is the coolest and creepiest pile in all the land? In twenty five years lead by your humble servant, and the great Greg Smith, none else?
