Psyched on a garage

Post by SCIN »

Man, I'm so psyched. Michelle and I have contracted to have a garage built in our backyard specifically to house a climbing gym. The ceiling is going to be scissor vaulted to allow for maximum height usage, french doors to eliminate any tracks that would get in the way if a standard garage door was used, swing out doors to eliminate the possibility of falling into an opening door, etc. 11 foot base height with 12.5 foot maximum height.

Tonight we get to start picking out holds. We've budgeted about 1,500.00 for holds to start with. It's going to be like Christmas!

We're only going to be paying 50.00 more per month than what we were paying to be members of Lexington Rocks but this time the money is going right back into our pockets! Garage = added value to the house.

Just had to spray......

It is going to be super cool for sure. You need to get your wireless speaker groove on, and a remote mythTV setup, as you will be spending so much time in there...

I added a GO GO's poster to my garage after I built my woody and it has proven to be the perfect compliment to training sessions.

Cool... I gotta say that I am blessed. I live like 2 miles from a super basement gym inhabited by some crazy strong climbers, and I just got a new toy at EKU for me to manage (and play on)... check it out:

I know dude... earlier this week I was exhausted and about to fall over and almost complained about a 80 hour week. Since the first of the week I've been putting in 12-15 hour days setting routes and getting the wall ready for grand opening. We opened last night and had over 60 climbers. It's a great wall, I have a great staff, and some cool routes. Ben came in a set a 13- for us, and we have a bunch of 9 - 11s and we've set several boulder problems up to V4. It's great... I have to pinch myself occasionally when my paycheck comes in. of course, i kinda like pinching myself, so that's not really anything new... but i digress. I gotta go get ready for our second day!

Congrats Ray and Michelle!
Hope they don't have to tear out too much landscaping in the building process.
