Post by rolas »

Hi
We plan to rock climb at RRG the 10 may for a week. We would like to know if it's not too hot and humid and for the bug ?

Thank

The bugs are already a bit of a problem, but not so bad that you can't have fun. Use insect repellent with DEET, and check yourself for ticks, and you will be OK.

The heat and humidity shouldn't be a problem. Some days it may be too hot to climb in the sun, but you can always find crags that are in the shade.

Have a great time!

too hot to climb in the sun for the week of 10 may?!!! No way man. I climbed all summer long in the sun/shade/rain/whateverweather. It is definitely hot in July and August, but even then it's not too hot to climb. May though, that's perfect weather!

this weekend high temps look to be in the low/mid 80's with lows in the 60's, I've had good luck with the roll on bug repellant you can get real cheap at Wally world, if you need some local color PM me and I would be willing to head down after work one evening and hook up for a few hours of cragging- later

Just go to Miguels and hook up with a local climber for the beta on where to climb at. The red is a good place to climb in ALL seasons, you just need to know what crag to go to when the weather is not cooperating. If you dont like the weather in the Red, wait an hour... and it will change... :|
