i find it amusing that climbers think of themselves as so open-minded and intelectually enlightened compared to other people. when it comes to christianity though, they get all bent out of shape and give people shit about it. the stupid hippy-fied power crystals, zen buddhism, new age bullshit is allright, but christianity...god forbid!

Funny how you feel free to denigrate Buddhism while complaining about people denigrating your religion. Why don't you say something unpleasant about Muslims, too? Might as well shit on the Jews while you're at it.

Your opinion may be that Christianity is the most important thing in the (your) world. Many people just don't want to hear about it. Other's opinion might be that Christians are good people... with some mustard on rye. There are other people that believe you are going to hell because you don't go to the same church they go to (as in Seventh Church of Christ of Cherry Corners).

Your opinion might be that Christianity is good for the world. Many people would say that, on the contrary, Christianity has been one of the greatest sources of war, overpopulation, resource depletion, genecidal behavior (see Andrew Jackson's Indian removal plan), utter lunacy, and bad hair the world has ever seen. And then there are people that think Pat Robertson makes sense.

There are many different opinions.

Jesus was way cool. It's just that so many of his followers (oh, sorry, "His") are narrow minded zealots or simple minded sheep being led by the wolves that stand in the pulpits. Oh, did I mention hypocritical? I meant to put that in there. People that get shit-faced drunk on Saturday night and screw their neighbor's wife in the ass are all pious and condemning Sunday and Monday (and maybe Thursday morning). I grew up around these people and if there is a hell I hope my job is to shovel coals on people like them. It's just that I find the idea of hell to be kind of simple and superstitious. But that's my opinion.

Come up with some good jokes about atheists. It's hard. Making jokes about fundamentalists is easy... and it's good exercise!
