The last two gully washers we had did heavy damage to the MFRP access road. It is passible currently by 4x4, Its is safe to pass just requires a higher ground clearance. I will be on the phone Monday morning coordinating repairs with the county, oil company, and if need be, outside contractors.
Keep in mind this season has be exceptionally wet. Soil conditions are loose and unstable. Use your head when parking and park ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS!

Spoke with the correct people this week. They have equipment inbound and should have the county and RRGCC portion repaired by the end of next week (weather, of course, permitting) Should be good for 2wd vehicles for the trail day. The wheels are also turning on the parking lot gravel but nothing in stone yet..... stay tuned, as I find out more I will send it out.

Do you recommend avoiding the gravel hill off Shumaker Ridge on any particular days next week?

Can't really say. I don't think they will keep me in their loop when it comes to the timeline very much. Just keep a look out

Gotcha. The road coming in the other way off Holly and Tiptop is in pretty good condition, if anyone's curious.

Inside joke or serious? Is it passable in a subaru? Seems like that way would be quicker anyway vs. driving down shumaker everytime...?Andrew wrote:yep... excellent shapedustonian wrote:Gotcha. The road coming in the other way off Holly and Tiptop is in pretty good condition, if anyone's curious.

No it's about 2 miles longer from the north. The road is better overall although you need a bit of clearance crossing the creek.

Yeah that creek looks pretty deep... Looks like a truck is needed.
