I have tons of brushes in my bus, courtesy of Dr. Bob and the RRGCC so if you need some, and will actually brush (holds or tic marks or both) then stop by and grab me.

i was updating my spray and i was kinda tempted to use the "try" feature - but i'm a bit confused. i'm hoping those of you that actually know the rules can clue me in!
how would the following be entered into the online guide?
1st go = TR not clean
2nd go = TR clean
3rd go = TR clean
4th go = Lead - 1 fall
5th go = Lead clean
if i'd decided not to lead it, then i know i would enter 2 tries on TR. but since i'm entering it as a lead, would that be 2 tries or 5 tries? i only tried to lead it twice but my feet left the ground 5 times.

You hit the nail on the head with "your feet left the ground" = 5 tries
To save tries. Once you hang the draws stay on tr and workout the crux as many times as needed before the red point burn
I still think the old remove the rope from the equation senerio helps id the rules the best though. 8)

well that makes no sense. if we removed the rope from the equation, then i did it 2nd try. bottom to top. no falls.

I count *my* tries as number of times I start the route, regardless of if TR or lead. So, I would score it as 5 tries, though I don't keep track past 2, or sometimes 3. Some people consider tries to be just redpoint burns, and don't count tr's or leading to "work" the route.

Thats right tr send 2 tries. Makes perfect since. Lead send 5 tries.

Since the sport now allows one to hang dog, if you work the shit out of the crux on your first go on the route, its one go with lots of extra climbing involved.
