Lol, I don't get why people are getting so defensive about the discussion on terms.

So if I get this right, a climb on pre-placed trad gear would be a sport ascent and a route bolted on lead would be a trad ascent? Wouldn't a trad bolt route only be a trad route for the first person since every subsequent ascent would be on the pre-placed bolts? I wonder how many sport routes in the gorge are really trad routes? Someone needs to tell wiki they have it all wrong and I think HAL 9000 is going to explode.

Not sure I follow the train of thought here. Are we really trying to discourage discourse? If so, why bother have the forum? Pot-stirring in general has given birth to many great conversations.

Absolutely correct! Now who's going to throw in with Andrew? I bet there are a some more good lines out there just waiting.
