Not every route needs to be for everybody. I have not done much in the R/X area but to have those routes out there is better for the whole community. Gives climbing character and character to climbers.

ok I was not going to add to the actual topic but now I can't resist. IMO R/X routes should NOT be sport..read bolt protected... climbs. Leave the R/X rated climbs for gear protected routes.

I've seen some spicey bolted routes at City of Rocks that I would not call your average sportroute.

rhunt..no way. bolts are not the designation of a sport route.
