Its called slab, long reaches, intricate beta, or areas like HP40/Joshua Tree. Doesn't mean the grades are wrong. Means perhaps I read the route wrong (maybe you can understand that) or that I am legally not a midget but I am not far off. Either way I try to learn from it and grow as a climber and not bitch about what grade the FA has decided fits that climb.

No offense Brentucky, but onsighting just ain't your specialty.

Right on Kyle.... I bet the majority of climbers fall on "low-grade" JT problems like the Chube (V2), Stem Gem (V3), Pigpen (V4) and Streetcar (V6) their first try or five, no matter what number they've "achieved" or feel they're entitled to climb at. And I remember Sign of the Cross at Hueco being way burly for V3...

Grading routes is hard. Giving stars to routes is hard. Truth is there is no correct grade or correct number of stars for any route.

A byte has 8 bits. That is guaranteed to be exact. A blob of rock challenges a human to the difficulty of 5.12c and provides 4 stars of enjoyment. That is not guaranteed to be exact.
