Welcome to the club SM... I think if you get a special title that means you have been inducted into some kind of wierdo internet climqbing cult...or something like that.

As for Ro Shampo's grade....

NOW SHUT UP AND CLIMQB YOU BOZOS :!:

I am tired of hearing about how hard everyone wants to climqb, but oh the work required to get there is sooooo much. You mean to climqb 5.12 regularly I have to put in a lot of effort... up to half or more of my life / training during the week & weekends! I really do want to climqb hard but I just don't want to put in the effort. Ahhh the NEW American Dream..something for nothing....not, to work hard and reap the rewards, what it should be. Climqbing is a lot like life in this manner. Also just like life and climqbing it seems others are always more focused on what other people have or can do instead of being focused on themselves. Imagine what you could do if you spent that energy internally :?:
(BTW- Yeah, I am no longer a W-e-s H-u-m-p-e-r :D I'll take Lexus Man any day... I was wondering when people would start giving me crap...don't worry I can take it :D )

There is a great article in the recent R&I that Harrison Shull wrote talking about just this topic...it is in the letters to the editor section...check it out.

Now if this f'ing weather would cooperate we could actually get some productive climqb time in....damn I'm angry :x

He, he, I beat your stupid climqbing (silent q) h - a - c - k :P

Does that mean someone else gets to be wes humper? I have some thoughts on who that could/should be, but I am sure Sandy or Ray will have me humping Matt or Bart.

Ratings should be hard, esp a 5.12. Look at the ratings of old school climbs, are they rated harder just to sandbag, or did the newer routes get higher ratings to feed the ego of the FA or people who wanted a higher grade.

I am with Ray and others that pick a hard route for the grade, and if a route is easier then that one, it gets kicked down. I would much rather send a hard 5.9, then an easy 5.10, because I want 5.10's to feel like another level of climbing. Which it is. That pattern should be the same all the way up to 5.15.

Ya know what kills me?
Climbers who become so dead set on sending a 5.12 that it is all they work on. They seem to forget the fact that there are a SHIT load of 5.11 routes in the Red that are way more difficult and bold than the 5.12 routes they work on (routes at Skybridge Ridge for instance). Yet they have no interest because spraying about sending a 5.11 just doesn't sound as cool.

Sick puppies, Super dario, martin rides again, Dave the Dude-Are all great climbs! Harder doesn't equal better. Or the gift at long wall. The list is loooong. It's easy to get fixed on climbing a certain grade-but I think I'm having more fun sending routes right now (or almost sending) than projecting some hard climb for.me.

Whew! Good thing I am actually obsessed with sending 5.13 or I would think Ray's comment was directed towards me! :D

Hey AC, you forgot Spirit Wanger and Big Stinkin' Breakdown too.
