512OW, wow i agree. yoga, slacklining and all that other shit climbers do (minus drinking because that does help) is a waste of time. if you want to get better at climbing, go climb.

but, i do think running and getting your cardio up will help for sure. yoga not so much...

i did yoga a couple of times a week for 3 years. i have back problems and i thought it would help, but never did. it also never helped my climbing. i think just good old stretching will do as much as yoga...

In that case I retract my earlier statements and would like to sign up for a yogurt class immediately.

If I'm able to climb more because my back doesn't hurt then yoga is helping me become a better climber.

i have a dvd with a really long yoga routine (1.5 hours) i used to rock a few times a week. it was pretty hard, but it didn't take long before i had it wired and wasn't getting much out of it. so i quit. i still like to do sun salutations to warm-up on cold days, and i certainly use the yoga breathe to help with stretching, but if i'm trying to get my core strong for climbing i go with this:
http://www.athletikspesifik.com/climbing-core.html (totally worth 8 bucks)

or bits of this:
http://www.beastskills.com/tutorials.htm

with these as a foundation you can come up with all sorts of cruel ways to get strong in the middle.
