(Why the hell did people hijack planes to Cuba, anyway? There's a Wikipedia page on hijackings to Cuba - there were almost 30 in 1969 - including 8 in January and 2 on February 3rd!?!? Several were mentally ill and several were "on the lamb", but what were the rest thinking?)

I remember those hijackings. I think it was because Castro wouldn't throw them in jail and they couldn't be extradited. Then BD Cooper came along and showed em the right way to do it.
