W VS. TERROR: SOMETHING'S WORKING
By JOHN HINDERAKER
May 30, 2008 -- IT'S an article of faith on the left that the Bush administra tion has done nothing that has enhanced our security - rather, its alleged blunders have only contributed to the number of jihadists who want to attack us.
Empirically, however, something clearly has made us safer since 2001. Successful attacks on the United States and its interests overseas have not increased, as had been widely predicted, but instead dwindled to virtually nothing.

The lefties forgot to tell the jihadis that this is a game of wackamole, and that every time we wack one of them two are supposed to pop up in their place.
Has the WOT made the U.S. safer?
Now even the mainstream press is starting to report that we've turned the corner in Iraq, that Obama needs to come up with a new plan ,something other than cut and run that takes that into account, that al qaeda is in disarray, and that radical islam is beginning to lose it's appeal (no shit, how's that?).
Man, that stupid evil Bush sure is getting lucky.

Careful Larry. I'd consider myself as well informed as anyone you'll meet in the public arena. An intelligent response to even one of the questions I have posed to you would do a lot to keep me from posting stupid images for the sake of humor.L Day wrote:Don't read much, do you Charlie?
So we should revive this conversation in what, 3 months, 6 months, or how long exactly?L Day wrote:....by your count, I'd say we're nearing the end of step 3.
Personally, I'd be thrilled with a significant signs of stability (none of which I've seen yet) in 2 years.
You're not kidding me, are you?charlie wrote: Personally, I'd be thrilled with a significant signs of stability (none of which I've seen yet) in 2 years.
From yesterday's Washington Post:
"Iraq passed a turning point last fall when the U.S. counterinsurgency campaign launched in early 2007 produced a dramatic drop in violence and quelled the incipient sectarian war between Sunnis and Shiites. Now, another tipping point may be near, one that sees the Iraqi government and army restoring order in almost all of the country, dispersing both rival militias and the Iranian-trained "special groups" that have used them as cover to wage war against Americans. It is -- of course -- too early to celebrate; though now in disarray, the Mahdi Army of Moqtada al-Sadr could still regroup, and Iran will almost certainly seek to stir up new violence before the U.S. and Iraqi elections this fall. Still, the rapidly improving conditions should allow U.S. commanders to make some welcome adjustments -- and it ought to mandate an already-overdue rethinking by the "this-war-is-lost" caucus in Washington, including Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)."
