We live in a strange, terrible, and magnificent place. However, maybe it isn't really any of those things, it just is what it is. The pure fact anything even exists to me is both beautiful and frightening, and mostly it is just beyond my comprehension. I'm as agnostic as it gets because I believe in the near impossibility of it all, yet it is staring me right in my mind proving to me that it and I am actually as I perceive it. Also, as human beings, I'm pretty sure we are all capable of getting a little skeeered every once in a while, whatever the reason.

As for unicorns, I am starting up the agnostic unicornian creationist group. If you want to genetically engineer some unicorns just to prove Shamis wrong please send me a check for a lot of money.
I am very amazed by our world. The only point I'm making is that you either believe in a supreme being or you don't. If you don't then you're an atheist. Agnostics don't exist. I'm Atheist about agnostics.

It's ok, you can change your mind later when you have that out of body experience.

I may be grumpy, but don't try to tell me I'm not kind.

lol...I never said atheists weren't kind. I said they were no kinder than the Baptist next door. We all know that pointing to a personal subjective experience offers nothign to a debate. we all know people on both sides of that coin.

I am going to finish reading this book before getting on here again. I only read a few pages a night, so it may be a month or so...lol

The proof is out there if you really were intentional in finding it. Maybe you don't want to be accountable to your Creator.
You know him? Talk to him? Does he talk back???

As far as proof, as I said before, the only reason we engage in these conversations is either to make fun of you (haters you know who you are), or to try to gain some new perspective, insight, or SOMETHING we may have overlooked. The problem is, and I mean this sincerely, your arguments are...lets just say not very good. Yes the world is amazing, but things like ecology, climate, plate tectonics, chemistry, geology, diversity of life, are all very well studied and understood fields of knowledge that can explain in near pornographic detail why and how the world is the way it is.

Wait...I thought HIS love was unconditional? If I don't believe in Jesus as the son of God, I don't get to go to heaven no matter how good I am? So when Jesus said the only way to the kingdom of God is through me, was he meaning that you had to accept him or his teachings? I mean, did God send Jesus down to say "Hey, I'm God, worship me or you're fucked!" Or was it to spread the word "Here are the rules to live by; treat people with respect, don't be a piss-ant to others."

Just because I don't believe Jesus is the physical manifestation of God, doesn't mean I don't try to follow his teachings. (That whole do unto others thing is a nice idea.) But the idea that I should blindly believe in a magic man in the sky...not so much.

An idea that is way older than Jesus. BTW Jesus is not a historical figure.

Yeah, but poaching ideas isn't new to religion. The Ten Commandments...sorry, Moses, but Hammurabi jotted those down on stone tablets some 400 years before you were around (at least as calculated by the bible. Not sure if there is any actual historical evidence for Moses, either.)

Moses does not appear to be a historical figure and the Israelites were apparently never walking around the desert nor were they held captive by the Egyptians. Curiously, David and Solomon were apparently real people. It is not entirely obvious that Moses is a myth, but Jesus is obviously a mythical hero.

Actually, both Jesus and Moses were real. Why do you think the Roman Empire collapsed?
