The Fountain's really good. I kept liking it, then not liking it, then loving it, then hating it while I was watching. But I ended up with an extremely positive impression.

Marie Antoinette's better than you think it'll be.

Pan's Labyrinth is amazing. Gory yes, but the gore only helps to express the attrocities of fascist rule, therefore allowing you to feel REALLY good when certain people get hurt or killed.

V For Vendetta was really cool.

For those looking for a different kind of film experience check out some Akira Kurosawa. Anything directed by him is amazing, especially his shorts. Mind blowing.
