I guess you are right that it didn't imply that all climbers are ignorant, just KY climbers.

I figure its just a matter of time till a bright Buckeye buys a cliff and hauls it back to Ohio so we have something here to climb.

I "like" how everyone seems to stereo-type everyone......I live in Cincinnati and I am not from here. I'm not ashamed to say I live here and am no way "uptight". Everyone is different and every interaction you will have with people will be different. Maybe, if everyone started looking at things that way, this f#$ked up world we live in would be a little nicer to live in. Just some food for thought. hopelesslycruel just wanted a little feed back on maybe "why" this happened. No whining, no bitching....he just wanted to know.

"I'm getting sick of.." what would you consider that? you can dress it up how ever you like but it's whining.. and like i said, you sure as hell don't see the michigan people crying and taking things personally when ohioans rip on the "whole state of michigan".. oh and that's a reference to the osu song "we don't give a damn for the whole state of michigan".

what happened to people? where did a sense of humor go? since when did so many of us get so serious and uptight? honestly, it probably was climbers who wrote on your car but it was probably in the same spirit as your best friend gives you a tough time for still wearing tighty whiteys.. so what. they probaby thought you were stable, mature, smart enough, part of the community enough to take it in stride and to have a good attitude towards it.

i think your reaction to the situation says more about you than the people that wrote it in the first place.. are you really this uptight or did you just have a bad day?

oh.. and for the record:

(“The local joke was that the economic conditions in Youngstown were so bad the Mafia laid off two judges” Bozanich said, a joke that, years later, turned out to be “truer than we wanted to believe.”) the debartlo fortune (think forty-niners) was built here along with one of the first malls in america. the debartlo fortune was also lost here through the nose of an ignorant, spoiled son and a daughter who is simply unlucky.

so go laugh and have fun with it and feel appreciative of the fact that we have a community that feels comfortable enough to chide each other and not have to worry about the other person getting personally offended.. or do we?

and any state with no salt-water shores deserved to be made fun of with a law like this on the books:

I just opened this thread and realized what it was about. The vechicle in question was Tony's.
I wasn't at the Red this weekend because I was working on a project and could not climb on Monday because Tony and I are moving and I wanted to get started transporting stuff. Tony chose to climb instead (yeah, I know). He went climbing with my brother and sister'n'law, who are from Kentucky and theyn lightheartly tease us "buckeyes" all the time. They had been teasing him all day about me at home (in Ohio) working hard moving his stuff (which was totally ok with me). Well, they left mid-afternoon while Tony and Jason continued to climb. When they got back to the car, my brother had wrote "go home ohio" on the back of his window (it was the last thing he said to Tony as he was heading down the trail, too). So that is the story.

That sounds about right.
