I own a pair of Mythos but I climb everything in Stingers. They rule.

Yeah, I knew you joking. That is why I posted too. I too try it all, trad, sport, gym and boulder, but I am not good at any. One thing for sure I do try to have a good time at whatever I do.

Lately my main bitching topic has been the crappy weather this fall at the Red. When I started rock climbing I was so eager to get out there even when the temperature was in the mid 30s. Now, I have a lower limit, 50 degress F.

It seems like we climbers are either climbing or talking about climbing. So when it's too cold to climb we'll be posting more on the web.

yeah I don't know how the hell I pulled that thing off. I thought I'd come out of the closet on that thing now - If somebody wants to see something fairly ridiculous look at the splitter crack with a tiny tree that goes up the middle of the wall that is off to your right as you face the first pitch of BTFB. Unless you are in a really warped mood don't bother climbing it, just ponder the opening moves to get to the crack and wonder what would possess a guy to do it.
We called it The Arms of the Rhodo (which is your best protection until you can get a solid piece in the crack) and I have no clue what to rate it.

Maybe spending to much time in the gym has softened my brain, but how exactly does one stick clip a cam? did it involve duct tape?

THose opening moves felt harder than anything I've ever done. My excuse is that... well, nevermind. Say anyone seen that rats nest of yelow webbing at the top? What poser put that stuff up there?

I don't know but I heard that shortly after the perpetration he fled the Red River Gorge for some choss pile called Red Wing in Minnesota and has now taken a hostage and is hiding out somewhere west of the mighty Mississip.

The Ballad of 88keys Huggybone

Huggybone was a man very well known
by the climbers in the red river gorge
eating lots of rice and climbing in the rain
are the things that he was known for

like on that fatefull day back in the month of may
when I was sure we both would die
the lightening struck the ground and the hail came pounding down
but ol huggy just "said lets go climb!"

the man could grunt and groan through any crux known
he jammed up the greenpantyhoes
with the bullets in the air it was an awful scare
but huggy was gonna get that FA dead or alive

his rack was the size of an REI and he carried it 'er did he go
they say once a lad from old Cincinad
came to don mr huggybones cams
he collsaped to the sand and nary could he stand
huggys rack was just too grand

And who could believe the scene when he ran away with dean
to the plains of Iowa
They say at Miguels some nights, when the wind is right
You can still hear his hexes clang
Is it huggys rack they hear, or just some trick of ear
No one can really say
But to this very day you can still read his spray
