I've seen you complain about how this board could change and accomodate you and your friends more and bitch about how climbing chicks don't like you. Actually, his first post was requesting advice as to what he could do with a problem he's having with a tendon in one of his fingers. His friends are the ones who chose to jump in and be idiots.
All he was really asking with this thread was why the offending posts were flat out deleted as opposed to editing out the offensive content and providing a link to the rules of the board so that everyone (not just the offending poster) could be reminded that this is not a public forum and that there are rules that we have to follow if we wish to be a part of this community. Sure, it was apparant that something was wrong, it just never hurts to be specific about it off the top. At least that's the way things have been handled on other message boards that I frequent.
As for the climbing girls dating climbing guys thread, I'm surprised anyone took that remotely seriously.
I know there are some cool people here because I've met several of the regulars on this board during my trips down to the red this last fall, so I find it a little surprising how ertbaby was welcomed into the forum. I'd like to think he doesn't compare to Joe Hanes in terms of being offensive to those who don't know him well (both on here and in real life), and you can't really blame a guy for not participating as much as he'd like when he's just been trying to find out why everyone is so short tempered. I guess sometimes it's safer to just be a lurker and leave it at that.

The moderators of this board volunteer their time and do the best they can. They do *not* get paid. They help *me* and others out greatly by keeping the house clean. If they step out of bounds...so be it. If they fuck up...so be it. If they are having a bad day and feel like getting rid of someone...so be it. They are devoting their free time to help maintain a site about rock climbing in the good ol' Red River Gorge.
It pisses me off when people badmouth them. This is the internet. This isn't a public facility that you pay money to come in to exfoliate your dead skin.
