I think there's something to be said for having a bunch of JATD t-shirts (or water bottles, or dogbones, etc.) out there at the crags, advertising people's involvement in one of our community's biggest events.climb2core wrote:How about skipping the t's, aprons, and dog bones and make a donation to Team Suck or the Mank bank in the individuals name (as I know the RRGCC can't support things like that)

We could have someone make them. Let's snoop around.Josephine wrote:who makes them? not sure that they'd be cheaper though.caribe wrote:10 mm Customized dogbone for a quickdraw. Cheaper and more memorable than a T-shirt.

This may mean partnering with Petzl, BD, or Climbtech, DMM, mountain gear or whatevercaribe wrote:We could have someone make them. If the dog bones are logistically possible that would be sweet... I think you could talk "possibles" or "maybes" into coming just because of that, as sad as that is...

If I got a t-shirt, it would eventually make it into the garage as a grease rag. If it was a dog bone that had a decade of climbing on it I would eventually retire it into the climbing memorabilia stash. Maybe it would eventually become some form of decorative wall art. An old ratty t-shirt is just an old ratty t-shirt, no matter what it says. A cool old dogbone is a conversation piece at the least. (I am climbing on decade old ones and they always start a conversation with my buddies when I pull them out of the pack).
