I know August 10th seems a long ways away - but it's time for me to start planning for JATD 2013!
I would like to provide participants with something they would like (and use) - but at the same time I know many of us have more t-shirts than we know what to do with! What would you think about getting a water bottle instead? Is there something else you would like? I'm happy to keep the t-shirt - but just thought something different might be nice for a change. What do you want?

We took away a lifetime memory as a reward when John hosted the first one Watching Terry retape Johns' trails was classic. So was watching Wes and John bolt their routes. Listen to Terry give flight instructional beta during the lunch break - pretty funny. Wes using his bare arms to dig big rocks out of the mud during the trail build. Best memory was parking in the "parking lot" at Sore Heel and hearing John say "this is ours." Though there ain't no shirt that will ever say all that, times have changed, so I'd stay with a tshirt.
My old shirts are starting to develop too many holes to be functional any longer. I get two new shirts a year and I may have to discard more shirts than I replace. My wardrobe is dependent upon a well designed trail day shirt.
How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared

camhead - I agree - I would LOVE to have the nice synthetic shirts - I just don't think I can do it within my budget constraints. That being said - if any of you wealthy, employed climbers want to sponsor a high quality t-shirt (or at least off set the cost) please PM me. But I will see what I can do. Might have the option of a water bottle or a t-shirt but will have to check.
