Vaccines are wonders for the super bugs. Get the standard mix.
Flu shot - Only if people are dying left and right. I had a brain surgeon tell me not to get a flu shot because they don't know the long term effects of multiple shots on humans.
It's the lesser of evils for the mandatory vaccines. One shot for a lifetime of protection seems reasonable but I am not convinced in regards to flu shots. Subjecting yourself to an invasion of known toxins directly into the blood stream on an annual basis for a bug they may get right? I don't want to be the guinea pig. If someone is worried about dying from the flu then they have every right to get one if they want but don’t ask me to.

She's not a porn star; she posed in Playboy.
...then made out with a porn star.

Wes, I'd be ok with you calling me a 'fucking idiot' if only it wasn't true that the science czar, John Holdren, co-authored a book called "Ecoscience" in 1973 in which he says that an effective form of population control is putting sterilizing agents in the water supply, staple foods, and mass vaccines. Do some research before you decide to break out the insults, man, that's just not cool.

I have been involved in health care for almost 20 years and I've got to go with Wes on this one. It seems unacceptable to expose your children to potentially deadly and debilitating disease because you heard something on the internet about possible side effects (something that has not been proven).
Having said that, I usually don't get the flu shot because I never get the flu. This year the pressure from my peers to get vaccinated was so intense that I decided to get the live virus. I did get a sore throat after vaccination but pretty sure I will live. I like Krampus I came to feel that it was irresponsible to expose my patients to this particular strain of flu.

Sounds like a great idea.

Couple more articles up at wired, but really, this whole thing is depressing, esp. the comments there and other places. Anti vac is like young earth creationism - people have a belief, and no amount of data or fact is going to change that. I take it to mean we have done a shitty job with teaching science, but oh well. I don't have kids, and I have my shots, even old enough for smallpox.

A large percentage of the population believe in something without any proof. Shocking news.
