maybe because the moves are so stellar?
i hear a lot of people comment on a route being "classic" in the sense of the flow-rock quality-etc, the general aesthetics of the route being in line with other high-quality climbs.

Believe me, Steve, I felt so stupid coz I couldn't guess what it was at first either. It's like not knowing your own children's names!
