this is actually called Diminished Gluteal Syndrome or DGS. King of the Hill had an episode dedicated to this, think it was called Hank's Back Story-- If you like that show try to find this episode it is hilarious

It ain't bicycling. I didn't get an ass until I was well into my 30's and when I was in my 20's I did some massive touring. Paul, I can read between the lines of your post and see your pain. Some women has hurt you because you don't have a nice enough ass for her. But don't worry; there are women out there who are looking for more then just a nice ass. Not many though. Not many.
