that reminds me of this one time when Yasmeen was climbing and Erynn and I were admiring her booty. She did this <i>thing</i> with it that nearly made me lose control of my break hand... *fond sigh*

Not to downplay Yasi's BAMF capabilities (because she is without a doubt someone I am most inspired by) but why do you think the Inhibitor hasn't been climbed by any other women up 'til now? Michelle, I wondered this, too-- especially when Wes was saying that he thought I got the FFA of Windy Corner. I didn't think it was possible that in 20+ years no women had done it. He made the point, though, that there haven't really been any local women climbing 5.11 trad up until now, and that most women passing through the Red don't go looking for the trad lines-- they stick to sport. So I'm not sure, either, on this whole FFA deal. Ahh well!

Before I lived here, I used to visit the RRG and there was a 40+ year old lady, Gina, who climbed 5.11 trad. She lived in Louisville for a few years and was from out west. She was pretty crazy and I used to hear stories of her getting nutty and going off and free soloing hard trad lines.

I met a girl at Pocket Wall over 9 years ago that climbed 5.11 trad and watched her cruise some amazing routes a few years later at the Grottos in California http://www.redriverclimbing.com/album_p ... ic_id=1176. A few weekends ago I met a girl at Roadside that climbed 5.11 trad and she and her boyfriend/husband were visiting the southeast for a few months from Canada. I only talked to her about Synchronicity because I was working it at the time and she had just done it, but I'm sure she was climbing other RRG trad lines during her stay here.

I just don't think classic lines like Inhibitor, B3, etc., haven't seen any first female ascents until only recently. The RRG has too much traffic for these to have slipped by.

But...
if you reeeeeaaaally think I'm wrong, I'll take the FFA on B3!

Are there not a whole lot of female trad climbers around here?
Then again...5.11 trad is insane...male or female.

I could easily be wrong but I was told...albeit through the grapevine...that Yasi was the FFA.

Wouldn't it make more sense and be more distinguishing if the acronym FFFA was used if you are really trying to distinguish that it is a fist female free assent, in stead of FFA which seems to give it two meanings?

Exactly. I know what I want for x-mas: the ability to lead 5.11 trad routes - well, any 5.11 actually. I guess for I'll just have to continue flailing away at whatever trad epic ynot wants to put up a toprope on.
