Yes, that was exactly what we were thinking when we started with Road Side and White Out. I'm especially glad that we finaly got that second pitch of White Out Bolted. It's always bothered me that one could only climb the first pitch safely (once those bolts were added, that is). Now, the entire route can be done! Anyway, we will be coming up with a list of the next routes up.

Please keep checking this thread for updates on which Trad cracks have been safely bolted.

Thanks again!

Could you guys bolt Syncronicity please? I would so love to lead it, but I don't even know what a cam tool iss I always wonder how trad climbers can carry hammers with them to put gear in, those hammers are so heavy. I like climbing lite so please, please get to Sync. this weekend.

Thanks for the suggestion Meadows. While I really think that it is better to start with the easier lines and then move up, Synchronicity is such a popular route that I think we probably should make an exception for it. We will bolt that one on Sunday after the crowds are gone.

Keep the suggestions and support coming you guys. It's going to take all of us to make this work.

why stop at bolting trad lines?? Why not bolt some of the more difficult boulder problems as well? that way we can aid our way through the tough sections and still get the ascent.

List of Trad Routes to be bolted:
Synchronicity
Motha
Five Finger Discount
Whiteout
Brontosaurus
Face Up To The Crack (only three bolts needed for the short crack section)
Windy Corner (due to popularity of the crack)
Inhibitor (name will then be changed to Uninhibited)

I realize that this is just a start and barely scratches the surface of the trad lines that require bolting in the Gorge. However, this is a huge undertaking and right now we only have enough hardward to grid-bolt about 10 cracks. therefor, we need you guys to keep the support coming. We can do this together y'all!

That's a very good idea Eric. If we can get the support required for that sort of action, I would be all in favor of expanding the scope of our campaign to include all of the clasic boulder problems in the Gorge as well. Thanks for your support Eric!

How about American crack and Wall....

and of course, Bedtime for Bonzo will have to be bolted as well. You can't forget Fortress.

Stacy those are great ideas! Don't think that we have forgotten Fortress Wall. However, There are many cracks at Fortress and in order to safely bolt them all, we are going to need a little more financial support than we have right now. However, this outpouring of support is really refreshing. It's really wonderful to see so many in the climbing community rally together in order to back such a worthy cause as The North American Trad-Bolting Campaign.

Loren and Yas, we'll be chopping this weekend and have plenty of bolts for you guys! The rain this weekend should keep the crowds down. So we should be able to clean (chop) and bolt all the Classics before they return.(the Mafia).
