I'm with you Di. I stopped drinking caffienated coffee several years back, suffered through the headaches but now I am a decaf girl and feel MUCH better from it! I'll drink a regular cup from time to time but not that often.

just a little forward thinking. caffeine leaches calcium from your system.

I can't drink more than one cup or I will never be able to finish a route wihtout a bathrrom break. The stuff flys through. I have been drinking tea lately b/c it doesn't give me that stomach ulcer feeling.

oh yeah, I live off the stuff. It is absolutely required with some of the long days I pull. I consider drinking coffee as "Better Living through Chemical Management" yet when there is a need to slow down I drink bourbon. Up in the morning, Down in the evening. simple.

Yeah, a supervisor once said to me "The key to life is maintaining the fine balance between alcohol and caffeine".

Does drinking a gallon of milk a day counteract the leaching?

Coffee is an amazing, life-sustaining drink. I am evil without it. Also, I wouldn't go NEAR Ho before he has his java. He might show you his chili dog!

I guess that would depend on how much coffee you drink.
I personally drink coffee because I like the taste of it. Caffeine has never given me that 'buzz' or awake feeling so it is easier for me to limit myself to a cup or two a day. Unlike some folks who need their java, or else.
When I was a 'hard-core' coffee-r it used to wreck havoc on my stomach and since then I cut it with milk/cream. (Maybe that counters the robbing of calcium too?) Yeah, right. :?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I thought it both leached calcium out of your system and prevented absorption of calcium into your bloodstream.
