Bummer Andrew... on the plus side though it should be a fun next few months if you can ride it out for a while. I used to love getting laid... off.

Living the dream is finding the good in every day. It is learning to live in the moment, and not for the moment. Some days suck. But every day, I live the dream.

As an aside...There was a sign somewhere in the middle of no where in Mexico on the road from Phoenix to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco). It said "Living the Dream". Every time I hear that saying, I am always taken back to that desolate road I took so many times in my college days. Good times.

Thanks for letting me unburden my heavy heart Kipp. I feel much better now.

It's not very original, but it's true. Every year me and a a few buddies we rent the Torrent Fall cabin for a week late in the Spring (rapidly approaching!!!) and we drive down from way up north where we live (Canada hey?). I swear, every year there's a moment when we're all sitting on the porch after a day of climbing, drinking beer, and suddenly it comes out: "man, THIS is living the dream."

Kipp, is "The Dream" meant to be minimal work and maximum amount of time in the outdoors?

I feel like I am living very close to my version of "The Dream". I have a wife that anyone would kill for. We have a home that we look forward to raising kids in (hopefully soon). I have friends who are supportive of my climbing goals (as I am with theirs). Aquaintances of yesterday, have become friends of today.

I feel that a lot of the "bad vibes" that were present in climbing in decades past have started to fade away as the rightful heirs of the sport have claimed their thrown: the children. I feel that watching the kids giggle their way up our long standing projects, has shown many of us that we are not the Dragon Slayers that we wished to be.

Everyone being cool to everyone has always been part of my dream. Everyday we get closer.

Perhaps I should have worded my query differently.....we all have dreams and for every single person they are different (climbing related or not). Are you living your dream? If yes, what is it? If no, why not?
