"Rock Climbing Red Rocks" by Todd Swain. A Falcon Guide.
Red Rocks ABSOLUTLY rocks, but I would think it would be a blast furnace in mid-August. Everything out there, sport, trad, aid, multi-pitch from 2 to 9, 10, 11 or more pitches.

I think the city is also pretty damn hot in Aug. Try Squamish, or maybe the Serria high country.

City of Rocks is a good summer climbing area. It's warm but you can chase the shade pretty easily. Wild Iris is a good spot too. If you can swing it, I'd say hit Maple Canyon. That place is so much fun and you can climb in the shade pretty easily because of how the walls are formed.

Yasmeen,
What kind of climbing are you looking for? Trad, sport, bouldering, multi-pitch trad, etc?
