Very cool! I love the "late Space Age" lines!

There's a lot of overlap between trailer interiors and boat interiors. If you haven't been looking at that yet, I'd bet that you'd get a lot of ideas, techniques and part sources from boat interior sites and books.

Next time I'm setting my tent up in the rain, I'll be cursing you two under my breath!

I had one similar to that when my children were very small. On one trip their bed broke, so I put them on a mattress on the floor. During the night, they both somehow rolled to the foot of our bed.

Well, you all might be stuck with us for us for a few more years - short of winning the powerball, I don't think we can do all the things we want to this winter, start the photography thing full time, and relocate to the front range. Besides, the best climbing town thread really did sorta make me think about missing the southeast climbing...

Anyway, phase one - removing all the inside stuff is finished, and we finished phase two - livability, today with new tires, ky plates, bed platform, full sized futon mattress, and a much needed trip to the self serv car wash. Phase three: "Pimp my ghetto rv" starts tomorrow with bedding, curtains, and finishing up the inside repairs.









Now, just image the outline of the pit or heuco, or even the red in the last photo, rather then suburbia...

So, after two weeks in the scamp, the verdict is it rocks, with one exception. Overall it is really cool to have the space and not to have to rearrange everything at night and in the AM. We lost about 4 mpg on the way out, but think it will do a bit better on the way home. Being able to cook inside and stand up is just nice. We are already really thinking about getting something a bit bigger, so we have more room for the dogs.

The only real downer was the bumpy ride out here, and a short trip down a really washboarded out road loosened / broke the seals on the windows so we had some leaking during a nice storm in vedauwoo. We used a big tarp, and because my wife rules, resealed it.



The top vent still needs some work, but overall it is much better.

Tania...you look like you are well on your way to having the items for your home repair tool kit that we talked about! Make me proud! Hope you guys are having a great time...see ya soon!

Damn that is solid 5.10 home improvement. Might be .10+ seeing that you making improvements while your on the road. Proud.
