Roadtrip accommodations...

Post by Wes »

So, in preparation to take a few month road trip, relocate to the front range, and have something that we can use to camp with all four dogs once we are out there, Tania and I bought a little scamp tailer. 1978, thus making it older then her! We are doing a bunch of renovations to it, and will try to keep this thread updated with the progress. It is a little bit bigger the a VW bus, weighs around 1200 pounds and is mostly fiberglass....

It came with a stove, refrigerator, sink and furnace, though only the stove was working for sure. It also had a bed/table thing on one side, and a bench on the other. And, one cabinet thing on the other side...

Since we needed space more then those things, out they came!

Next step is to clean it up, patch the holes, replace a little bit of rotten wood on the floor and install a bed. And, maybe add some shelves. Oh, and dog beds as well! Once we are finished, we should have around a double sized bed, a bench in the front for the dogs, and a pretty good amount of storage. Add a window unit AC while we are in the red this summer, an electric heater for Heuco over the winter, and I think we will just about be set.

Wish it was as big as the pictures make it look!!!

J/K..it's pretty nice. I think we will be able to make it comfortable and functional. And look cool! A little color on the inside, RRGCC and Marley bumper stickers and it will be set!

How big/small of an electric heater do you need? We have a stand up one in storage in Cincy.

take a good look at the wheels, repack the bearings and have a good spare and a bomber jack set-up- I'm surprised it didn't have one of those singing bass mounts... "take me to the river"
