Anyone know a way around a proxy server? I'd like to check my web-based email (yahoo) fromw work, buy this damned proxy won't let me.

Ha, there are ways, just depends on how things are set up. You can use gmail via pop, as it uses secure ports, rather then the standard ones. I think yahoo just uses the standard pop3/smtp ports which might be blocked. You could also set up yahoo to forward your email to your work address.

1: Sign up for gmail.
2: Enable Pop3 clients in the gmail web client
3: Configure a pop3 mail client on your workstation to use the s/pop3 and s/smtp ports
4: Send and recieve mail via gmail while at work.
