Hey Texas Pete. We are just about ready. Stop in and see the place. I think you will be impressed. We will be open towards the end of the month. We are taking reservations for Memoral Day. Thanks for asking.

To everyone who has stopped in, called and emailed us with words of encouragement – many, many thanks – it worked.

The hostel will officially reopen the weekend of May 27th. No big party or fanfare. We’ll simply resume where we left off, before the fire. If you haven’t seen the place since it’s been rebuilt, please feel free to stop in and say hi. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

We kept what worked, like our ample home style breakfast of scrambled eggs with cheese, thick-cut bacon, biscuits with sawmill gravy, tomatoes, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. We also added some nice amenities, including an extra bunk area, a library, two computer terminals with high-speed internet access, and a wi-fi server. We relocated the gathering place and brought in some stylish and comfortable leather sofas, a stereo, television with DVD player, games, and a damn elephant lamp.

The hostel will be open Thursday through Monday and the rates will vary from $14 to $16 to $20 per person per night, depending on the privacy level of the room. Josh will be leading a yoga class on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., and the public is welcome to drop in for breakfast at $6. Dinner is by reservation only.

If business returns to the levels before the fire, reservations for bunks are recommended.

T-bone & I had stopped by about a month ago and the work that has been done to bring the hostel back is nothing short of incredible. Glad to hear that you finally able to reopen!
