I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Steve, that is WHY Lexington is without a gym. Kind of strange and ironic ain't it?

My climbing bubble took a major blow upon learning of the Lex Rocks closure. I am sorry that the area cannot support a gym. For those of us who have busy schedules, you were the only way to keep strong. Guess I'll go back to TR'ing 5.10's.

Why would you call it lex-vegas? That's not even funny.

I hate to see any small business closed down, but I do have some observations to make.

Kind of ironic that Climbtime was here first. It was a meeting place in Lexington for climbers. Sure it was small. Sure the climate control was limited, but it was the climbing gym in Lexington. Then Lexington Rocks shows up. There was the huge controversy because one of their staff supposedly commented they wanted to put Climbtime out of business. Then Climbtime goes out of business because the city couldn't support two gyms. Now LexRocks closes and the city is stuck without any gym at all.

Another bit of irony. Many of the folk who have been saying how great LexRocks was were the same people who long ago cursed LexRocks when they first opened, hated that they couldn't bring their dogs like they could at Climbtime, swore their allegiance to Barry and the Climbtime crew, were pissed that they couldn't climb without their shirts on at LexRocks, that they would leave LexRocks to the UK students and the birthday parties, and the list goes on. Then one by one they began to go to LexRocks...
