Am taking a couple and their kids for their first time climbing - is there anyplace in Slade or surroundings where I can rent some shoes for them?

Officially, Mark's BBQ has a complete line of climbing stuff - its official business name is now: The Gear Shop.
Last I checked, Mark still had several pairs of climbing shoes for rent.

go to torent falls in the southern region and u can rent shoes and harnesses at the gear shop i rented a harness for my girl last weekend.....think it was $10 for the day shoes might be $6.......hope this helps L8R

Just to avoid any confusion...
Mark's BBQ (officially called The Gear Shop) is owned by the owners of Torrent (not int the southern region, though) so everyone is basically talking about the same place.

Just call Mark - Kathy - Nicole and ask them what they have to rent at The Gorge Gear Shop: 606-668-6613
Talk about Southern Hospitality - but as mentioned... not Southern Region!
