Wes, Merrick, Odub, Spray Lord (yes, we all know that you want her too), and whoever else is jockeying for the position of Yasmeen's belayer, I just want to let you know that you shouldn't tell her anything of a personal nature or close to your heart. If you do, the first thing that she will do will be to forward it, in email form, to every person on her floor in the dorm. The next will be to forward that same email to other family and friends whom she deems worthy of receiving such information. After that, just when you think that it can't get any worse, she will mince your words to make you look even worse and then she will post them as her signature right here on the website in front of God and Everybody. So, consider yourselves forewarned.
Now Loren, understandably your feelings are hurt by Yasmeen's obvious pride in her friendship with you. Or it is more that she feels like she has to stake a claim on you by tooting from the mountain tops that you guys share a more "intimate" (if I may be so forward as to use that word) relationship than just this forum?
Maybe Loren, the problem isn't Yasmeen at all, but you. You know about this facet in Yasmeen's character and yet you insist on giving her things that could bother you. THEN you practically beg for exposure by writing "You have to promise to not post this to the forum..."
I think there are exhibitionist tendencies that you need to consider as part of your character before this situation can be resolved.
Maybe Loren, the problem isn't Yasmeen at all, but you. You know about this facet in Yasmeen's character and yet you insist on giving her things that could bother you. THEN you practically beg for exposure by writing "You have to promise to not post this to the forum..."

That's not it at all Big V. The fact of the matter is that I trusted her with information of a very personal and potentially damaging nature and she betrayed my trust. The only reason that I told her ahead of time not to share with the whole world was that I know that she has a tendancy to do that and I wanted her to know that the information was very delicate. I was sharing one of my deepest secrets, for fucks sake!
Are you guys serious? Why would you publicly display whatever intimacy issues the two of you have. First, it's about healthy boundaries. Second, why do you think any of us care?
Loren, your sense of betrayal may be appropriate if you made it clear that your statements to Yasmeen were confidential. Continuing to do so after the first violation is your issue. You should feel good however that you took the risk. That is the only way you can ever achieve intimacy.(enlightenment through relationship)
Yasmeen, why would you reveal confidential statements from Loren to others? Did you guys get to close too fast? Did you just make an error in judgment?
Do you really think bouldering will help?

Yasmeen, take a semester off from school and take a good hard look at yourself and what you have done to Loren. But do not stop trad climbing.

Yes! This was all really a ploy to get you to "come out of the closet", so to speak on your real motivations for climbing with me Merrick. I knew that it would work! If I really cared about the mllet issue, would I post as my profile photo the picture of me and my loved ones, ALL SPORTING MULLETS?! I don't think so! I'm a proud mullet-toter and always will be!
So, merrick, if you really want to climb with me again, you had better come up with some better reasons than my big cams. Anybody can buy a bunch of big gear. But can anybody give a soft catch the way that I do? Or give such a mean spot that they can pic you up out of thin air and put you down on your feet like I do? Or pick out just the right music mix on the way to the crag that will get you pumped to send your project like I do? I don't think so!
