Soil Erosion good?

Post by dhoyne »

Just because it's Friday, discuss.

Soil Erosion is a good thing for climbers -- eventually it adds more and more feet to every climb!

I need more coffee.

It shortens the approach while lowering the base. :|

Yeah, but then you end up with starts like the one on To Defy The Laws of Tradition at Left Flank where the first 5 feet of the climb are wet and dirty all the time. I am not so sure that extra 5 fet of stepping on dirty wet holds really adds anything to the climb :| If anything it probably takes away from it.

Of course I know you are kidding... I am trying to think of a climb where the erosion has helped...maybe at Roadside... you know the overhang at the start of the 10 wall is that much higher now...cool...right :?:
Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

Stay the Hand & Jersey Connection are a little bit longer now then they were 8 year ago when I first got on them...

How many people remember what the base of that 5.10 wall at roadside looked like 8 years ago?
