Shoot me now.

Though...when the weather finally breaks I have new draws and rope to entice me back on the rock.

Time to break out the kayaks and/or rafts! And warm clothes.

Make that 8-12" tomorrow night... so much for those roads thawing/drying out

I'm coming down from Canada too, stopping off at the Red from the 6th through the 11th before heading to Horeshoe Canyon Ranch in Arkansas. So, I guess I am leaving the winter tires on??? Was pondering on taking them off cuase I was going to head much further south and didn't want to destroy them... Forcast for that period looks promising as long as the snow can melt and the roads clear up. What do the roads in to Muir look like? Is PMRP easier to get into? As far as screaming barfies are concerned, plan your crags based on what gets sun and where it will be. Two years ago I was in the Red around the same time with temps in the minuses and the one day we climbed walls based on the sun and it was very comfortable. You just had to watch for falling ice.

The roads are going to suck for a while, and the fewer people using them the better. Continue down south where it didn't just snow a foot.

Yeah, I hear you. I don't want to ruin the roads with any extra traffic but in the two week forcast of our March break this first week looks the best for the Red. Unless we do The New first then The Ranch and pray for the second week of rain to pass by then. Since there is no forum for the New does anyone know what conditions are like down there?

I'd recommend Chattanooga. Very few crags will be accessible in the Red for the next 5 or 6 days.
