handsome stray PMRP

im trying to get a better home for the stray down in PMRP, Ive talked to a bunch of peeps that have seen this dog and every-one thinks it is a good idea. I have left a note on the trailer that some folks think he might belong to but the shape he is in tells me he is not fed or cared for.
please call me if you know this dog or have any suggestions 603-953-3412 (texting works great cause of the lack of service at most of the cliffs)

just an update on the dog, we caught and brought to the vet. when i caught him his leg was swollen and he was unable to run, the vet found a puncture wound on his leg that was infected and giving him a fever of 104. he also has heart worms and is malnourished. were treating him and will be getting all his vaccinations.
my opinion is he wouldn't of lasted 2 days with his wound going septic, keep your fingers crossed and ill get him a home.

First and foremost, thank you for showing compassion to a living being that was suffering and doing something about it.

Unfortunately, animal neglect/abuse/cruelty is much too common in Kentucky and the state has the most lenient laws in the United States for perpetrators of animal cruelty.

"Kentucky: the single worst state in the nation for animal protection laws, for the seventh year in a row," according to the Animal Legal Defense Fund. ( http://aldf.org/press-room/press-releas ... al-abuser/ )

Not to wax philosophical, but given the fact that Kentucky as a whole seems to have a pathological disdain for its most vulnerable citizens, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

Kentucky was listed as the 5th worst state for women to live in according to a Time magazine interpretation of 2010 census data ( http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/03/23/top ... -kentucky/ ) and Kentucky had the highest rate of child deaths from abuse and neglect in the United States in 2007 from statistical analysis done by the Every Child Matters Education Fund ( http://www.kentucky.com/2009/10/21/9851 ... .html?rh=1 ).

Add in bitter resistance to bicycle lanes and pedestrian infrastructure in the "progressive" cities of Lexington and Louisville (just read the comments on any story about bike lanes/pedestrian infrastructure) and the fact that Kentucky not only allows but actively encouraged corporations to destroy mountains and pollute streams for profits, and it all kind of makes sense.

We're number 1! Kentucky kicks ass! Pass the bourbon, please.

I am so glad you are getting him help. He is such a handsome dog, I only saw him once, back in early october, and he was not in an obvious distress. We fed him a bit, and he hung out with us for the day. I was sorely tempted to take him home, except I really truly cannot.
