No offense, but European visitors and one-time guests from far away are a dime a dozen in the Red and if they all emailed Bob for special treatment he'd probably average 50 requests a week.

No offense taken. Good point. Still, it has been my experience that a little planning and nicely asking can go a long ways to provide opportunities to see and do things that otherwise I would have probably not gotten to do.

And to your point, I bet Bob almost gets no emails as such from all those far away one time visitors.
