New GoPro videos at the Solarium - Need Feedback

Post by tyler.yarbrough »

Hey everyone,

As the weather gets better i'll be posting more of these first person videos, but i'm still looking for feedback to try and improve on what I'm already doing. These two were from this week, both at the solarium. One is Super Best Friends, and the other is Banshee. Let me know what you think and as always please leave your comments so i'll know in which direction to go. The link to the SBF vid is as follows: Banshee should be up within the hour, just find it under related videos.

Thanks,
Tyler

with all due respect, it still needs to be slowed down..the flinging head action makes me dizzy.

maybe put the camera on your chest or something? I don't know, but following a persons every move of their head makes me feel drunk.....

mmmmm, margaritas.

Hear is an idea. Maybe have a friend on a rope on the route next to you holding the camera steady filming you climb.

agree. the helmet cam thingy bounces around way too much. i'd way rather watch someone send a route from a steady different angle. maybe if it was incorporated into a video that was mainly filmed from a third person view, but switched every so often to a first person view, that might be cool.

The vids are cool but you really can't tell what the beta is without an explanation or commentary. You can't tell if the holds he's hitting are jugs, slopey, etc. They are fun to watch though.

really I think the best use for a small camera would be mounted focused on a crux hold or sequence has part of a cut. Which is already something we see a lot.
