When do draws left on a warmup become booty?
Re: When do draws left on a warmup become booty?
KY is a hybrid mutt 100%!! the parts of this state are sooo different from each other, let alone the south!! the eastern coalfields region of KY is appalachia, straight-up. compare that to western kentucky and you know what im talkin about. the north/south gradient is just as wack! then there's lexington and louisville, which may as well be island nations themselves in my opinion. but "southern" culture? i don't think so. there's a mountain chain that separates the north and south cultures moreso than state lines. but kentucky? it's e'special.

How are those pain pills, Kipp?
Can't we all just get along?

We got a gay mayor elected here in Lex though--that ain't too Southern.
They give you OxyContin or what? I hear that stuff's "real nice" if you melt it down and inject it... & while we're on the subject, downright popular out in east Kentucky too!

The full story behind three draws left on a warmup for days at one of the Red's most popular crags is too sordid to sort out here. Suffice to say I was not surprised to find them gone, I was just hoping for a little more climberly love -- a bail 'biner seems like booty no matter where or when you find it, a whole quickdraw is something I leave in place no matter what.
Lesson learned.
Lesson learned.
I don't know much, but I know that.

But what do you define as "the South," Alex3000, and more importantly, when did you start injecting opioids?
"Climberly love"... ha ha, good one.

Here's my story about a first encounter with a bail biner, apropos of nothing.
Shortly after I started climbing (not all that long ago), and I'm talking BD harness/ATC/Locking carabiner combo kit straight out of the box with copy of How to Rock Climb! in hand, I went with my girlfriend to do Eureka (5.6, maybe 5.6+). I maintain that I was competent enough in leading, toproping, then cleaning a single pitch 5.6 sport route, but was largely devoid of climbing etiquette.
So of course, to my surprise, we walk up to Eureka - EUREKA - and there is an entire quickdraw on like the 2nd or 3rd bolt. We talked it over and could not figure out for the life of us how someone had to bail at the 2nd bolt of a 5.6 single pitch sport route, nor why they'd left an entire draw. Naturally, we assumed it was there for some purpose we had not yet discerned. It was too good to be true. Kind of like seeing a $20 on the sidewalk. Is the bottom of it covered in shit, and someone's filming us? Maybe we should just leave it. So that's what we did.
To this day I still have no idea why someone left an entire quickdraw on EUREKA, when I - the gumbiest of all gumbies - onsighted the motherfucker.
Nowadays, I just head to North Table Mountain, Wind Ridge, or sport park in Boulder canyon for a lifetime supply of free locking carabiners and other miscellaneous gear.

I once got two draws off Creep Show - they were mid route - I never though twice about them being anything but Booty! But I will say that I never really used them because I never trust booty gear that I don't know the history of.
