Friends of Muir Valley, an Access Fund Local Climbing Organization, is hosting its sixth annual Trail Day at Muir Valley on Saturday, September 26th, 2009. This event is an Access Fund Adopt-a-Crag event.
After taking advantage of the great climbing at Muir Valley through-out the year, this is your opportunity to give back and help to maintain one of the top climbing venues in the Eastern U.S. Every year there are projects that create new climbing areas in the valley, and help sustain the old, popular areas.
We ask everyone to meet in the Muir Valley Parking Lot between 8:30 and 9:00 am for a job assignment. Tools will be provided.
Friends of Muir Valley and True North Inn will be providing lunch, snacks, and beverages through-out the day, followed by a late afternoon meal. (Suggest bringing a folding chair to relax in at meal-time.) A quality event tee shirt will be provided to each volunteer. This year there will be door prizes. New this year, the Access Fund will be raffling off free ropes to Adopt a Crag volunteers as a thank you for participation in our local stewardship event.
For more information and to register, contact Doris Edwards at fomv.lco@gmail.com. Volunteers are needed for registration table, food preparation and service, and on the trail. Tee-shirt sizes are S,M,L, XL, and XXL.
