Its funny to me that most people have said they go to the gym to "train", and in 15 years of being in and out of gyms, I can count on my hands how many people I've seen "train".
You can't just call it training and have it be so.

So if there is no climbing in gyms, and most people don't know how to train, what is it that all those people are doing in there???

Maybe we can draw the line between those that are training and those that are climbing by the number of trips they take outside. Someone in the gym who has never been and never intends to go climbing outside is climbing in the gym. Those that use the gym to fill the space between trips outside and to stay in shape I would consider to be training. Even if the training isn't a specifc program doing certain reps / sets, they still see it as training.
Then there are the freaks that do stuff like climbing up and down for 30 + minutes at a time, or worse spinning along like a gerbil on the treadwall for 30+ minutes. That is undoubetly training because there are days that it is the furthest thing possible from fun. When you have to suck it up in order to get it done it's not climbing, it's training.

Hmm, this sounds like someone I know. Plus some of the gym problems, while admittedly contrived, are challenging and fulfilling when sent.SCIN wrote:Nothing wrong with having projects in the gym. I love seeing people get psyched on sending whether it's in the gym our outside. For some people the gym is all they've got.
While others just "break" the hard men out there, right before they are scheduled to go to Europe. Again, sorry 'bout that.
