Charlie, I'm not so sure I misunderstand the intention of Hamas, which is the total destruction and death of Israel as a nation. It's interesting that Israel pulled all settlements out of Gaza and turned it over to the Palestinians, sort of a small scale test of the two state solution, if you will. Unfortunately the Gazans voted in Hamas, knowing full well what they were all about.
As to the two state solution, the Palestinians could have their state any time they want it. Unfortunately they continue to insist on their version of the One State solution.
As for Tommy Caldwell, he's smarter than Bush or Obama, too smart to be a politician, that's for sure. He could also serve as exhibit one for my argument, as he's taken the strength and technique he developed as a sport climber and applied it to the greater challenge of Yosemite walls.
OW's right about a couple of things, though. Caldwell's no whiner. He didn't even whimper when I beat him in the pullup contest, didn't whine one bit about how I had the advantage of a belly full of beer and fingers all slimed up with barbecue sauce, or even about how he was too young to experience the energizing effects of the malt beverage. He just went back to the gym and made sure I wouldn't get him the next time. And I made sure there wouldn't be a next time. Oh, and the other thing, if you want to crush at trad, the quickest route there is through sport, and the gym. It's as simple as that. Just don't get hooked on the security of nearby bolts.

Larry, morons like fart don't realize that Muslims worldwide are seething with hatred for everyone in America for no other reason than we ARE Americans. It has nothing to do with Bush or Obama. They hate us all. Of course they (they being the aforementioned left wing fuckwads) will continue to ignore this fact and concentrate their efforts on doing away with the Second Amendment and welcoming iillegal immigrants as our nation crumbles down around them. Then, when there are Ak-toting towelheads running around their backyard they will cry "How did this happen?" And still blame Bush.

L K Day, of course you are right about the larger Hamas goal, I just meant in reference to the actions over the past few months. There are still a quarter million settlers in the West Bank however, moderate that Arab populations seems when compared to Hamas. Funny thing about apartheid....
