Mistral Climbing Shoes

Not to get too off topic here, but I saw the Testarossas in the sto' the other day and they're a buck sixty (ouch). If you want a pair of sporty shoes that edge well, try the Sportiva Cobras (I like mine). They're only a buck and have survived one resole so far.

Thanks for all the input. This gives me some direction on where to start looking. I agree with tomdarch where I wouldn't buy a pair of shoes without trying them on and climbing in them first. When I bought my first pair of climbing shoes, I tried on a pair and climbed in them. When I bought them, the guy pulled a different pair of shoes, same size, but they fit much looser than the ones I wore. I brought them back and got the pair I had originally tried.

I am a firm believer of supporting the gym I climb at by buying gear through them. They have been real fair with the pricing and have matched prices on the internet if like items were found cheaper there.

Thanks again for the direction. Not having to buy shoes for 4 years has been great. I do miss my good ole shoes though!

Climbers are truly a rare breed. I was talking with one of my climbing friends and mentioned that my Mistrals were shot. He stated that he had a pair that he had bought a couple of years ago. Only wore them twice climbing and then went to a different shoe because these didn't fit well. He asked me what size I wore and it was a match. He gave them to me. When asked how much he wanted for them, he said he just wanted the opportunity to climb down at the Red.

You can't beat partners like that!
