Isn't it illegal to climb arches in most places? And what's with all the tick marks?

Hey is that the new Letterman feature "Can a Guy in a Bearsuit Climb a Bridge"?
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

according to the website:

"A bear was walking across Rainbow Bridge (Old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit, Truckee) on Saturday when two cars also crossing the bridge scared the bear into jumping over the edge of the bridge. Somehow the bear caught the ledge and was able to pull itself to safety. Authorities decided that nothing could be done to help Saturday night so they returned Sunday morning to find the bear sound asleep on the ledge. After securing a net under the bridge the bear was tranquilized, fell into the net, lowered, then woke up and walked out of the net."

Tania and I, along with a bunch of CT Cinci people actaully drove overtop of that bridge while it was happening, but didn't know what was going on until a bit later, other wise I would have stopped for sure, even had all my photo gear with me...

Holy Shit. We drove right over top of that bridge while they had the net out. I wondered what was going on. I thought they were rescuing a sport repeller.
